Refurbished Q553 Suntracker

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Ask a Question-
Would I be right in thinking that the 2 on 2 off Q553 suntracker is suitable for switching on between sunset and sunrise with an off period during the night, i.e. say sunset until 11pm and 6am until sunrise? Obviously under this scenario the summer sunrise would be before the turning off time and the power should remain off. I suspect that it would try and turn off while still off and then turn on at 6am and remain on all day. Could the timer cope with this or would I be better off using a suntracker for dusk to dawn and a second time switch to turn on from 3.45pm to 11pm and 6am to 8.15am? If both timers operated relays I could take the power through them in series and achieve the desired result.
Dear Sir
The Q553 2on/2off version is designed to deactivate the early morning fixed on setting, ie 6.00am during the summer months when sunrise occurs before this time.
So your concern, that lights will remain on during the day, will not occur.
Please note that the way Q553 works to track sunset/sunrise, the units dial should always point at GMT, wintertime through the year. ie Dial appears 1 hour slow in summer.
So for your fixed settings at 11pm & 6pm to remain accurate thro year , they will need to be adjusted twice a year, as explained in the instructions.
